Translators who own it: A case study on how doxa and psychological ownership impact translators’ engagement and job satisfaction

This paper explores the job satisfaction of translators working for an international intergovernmental organization. The extant literature on translators’ has explored a number constructs. Based developments in field organizational theory and complexity translation as job, it is argued that psychological ownership may prove adequate framework to explain instrumental establishing dialogue between various analyses different workplaces interpreting studies. study focuses specific multilingual organization draws interviews 17 Spanish-native nationalities. Their feelings are analyzed variations how they relate constructs —feelings control, intimacy knowledge, self-investment— become apparent. Exploring patterns shows those be related differing doxas, is, their divergent, competing, sometimes conflicting understanding what should be.
